I haven't posted much new stuff recently, simply because I've been so busy. For the past few days however, I've found a few hours here and there to do a few paintings.
It's no secret to those who know me best that I love to paint birds, wildlife and old barns. ( and lots of other things, too ) But, when I get a chance to paint "just for me", usually a barn or an animal will win out.
Here are a couple that are "fresh off the easel". Both are in Oils, with some Acrylic underpainting. ( each is on 11" x 14" gessoed masonite and untitled as of yet )
By the way, for those of you who haven't checked them out yet, Jerry's Artarama now has all 17 of my Free Art Lessons posted on their site. I've been getting a lot of great feedback from just about anywhere and everywhere. Never underestimate the power of the Internet!!

Hey Wilson,
Great new works here! Love the barn painting especially. I checked out a few more of the online vids...very helpful! I haven't painted much lately either. I have a canvas set up...just haven't had a clue what to paint yet. I might use one of the pics I took recently as inspiration. Hope all is well!
Dawn
I've noticed your brushes have been idle. Shame on you!!! lol
Like I said, if nothing else "grabs me" and I don't feel like landscape, floral or still life, I can always paint a critter or a barn and I'm a happy guy!
Glad you liked the videos.
I know!! My brushes are still dry!! And I bought some new ones hoping it would get me going. AND I bought some semi-hard pastels that I haven't really used yet. I think I'm going to have to dedicated some creative time this weekend. :)
You do such wonderful work, Wilson! Same as Dawn, I really like the barn painting. I have drifted away from my landscapes lately... I am enjoying painting still life for the moment. I haven't got to check your videos out because I still have dial-up internet(pitiful!!) so it would probably take 12 hrs to watch one video, lol! (:
Thanks, Christy. Yes, I've been checking in on your blog and have been admiring your still lifes. Nice use of colors, by the way.
And yes, I remember the old days of dial-up connection and I thank my lucky stars every day for high-speed access! lol
saw your youtube vid on clouds. I then linked to jerry's last night and tried to do a painting by watching your video's. I started with the "sky" vid then on to clouds, grass and finally a tree. The background and the person are all my fault! Ha! I want to say thanks. I have been painting for one and a half years now. Before that I never did any drawing or what ever. I am a photographer and can see composition but I have a heck of a time making a good one. I am very excited incorporate what you are teaching in my paintings. Here is a link where you can see the difference in what I have been doing and what I did with your short videos. Thanks for taking the blinders off for me on trees! Dean

Hi Dean,
Glad to be of help! I just logged onto your link to check it out. Good job!! Your portrait came out great, too!
Thanks for the comments. The portrait was interesting and fun. Just tried to look at it as lights and darks. I really like what I accomplished with your techniques though.
